Kathy Crabb, M.A. is an astrologer who employs the horoscope chart as a visual metaphor for helping clients understand their individual life rhythms, obstacles and opportunities.

In partnership with her clients, Kathy explores the germination, flowering and transformation of life events, patterns and potentials. Working this way helps clients to reframe challenges, to experience them with new meaning and to see them in the context of life’s unfolding — rather than as isolated, isolating and frustrating. The chart, then, also acts as a guide toward solutions that make sense within the fabric of the client’s own life.
Therapeutic astrology is distinct in three ways:
- The framework of the horoscope chart provides immediate access to the individual psyche in a way that is relatively objective and unfettered.
- For this very reason, the course of treatment is typically far shorter than traditional psychotherapy.
- The chart allows the client to connect his or her own individual life to universal human stories, decreasing isolation and frustration and expanding meaning even further.
Kathy has been reading horoscope charts since 1999 and became a full-time astrological counselor in 2008 following a successful career in nonprofit fundraising, marketing and management. Her experience in psychotherapy, crisis counseling, bodywork, yoga and meditation give her the added ability to gently connect the work of the psyche to the work of the body to help facilitate healing and change.
Kathy’s educational background includes a Master of Arts in counseling psychology, with an emphasis in depth psychotherapy, from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College. She will complete written coursework for her Diploma in Astrological Counseling from the Astrological Psychology Institute (UK) in 2008 and is a member of the American Federation of Astrologers.
